NATURE UND MODERN TIMES
In 1994, Henri and Monique Luddecke sold their farmyard near Hanover and acquired the famous PERAYNE vineyard. The North German couple succeeded in bringing their dream to life in the charming town of St. André du Bois, which lies between mills and castles in the immediate vicinity of the medieval commune of St. Macaire. Sine then, Henri and Monique Luddecke have been investing their passion, respect and delicate sensibility in innovative techniques that remain close to nature (NATURE & BORDEAUX)
. The château, a magnificent stone building covering 2,500 square metres, has a welcoming inner courtyard and 25 hectares of surrounding vineyards. A wide range of vegetation grows in the sunny fields of PERAYNE (THE AREA), including wild violets, buckthorn, clover, wild garlic, crested dog's-tail and red fescue as well as natural, traditional grapes that yield a premium harvest. Once picked, they produce a fruity, garnet-red Merlot (50%), a fine and spirited Cabernet Franc (35%) and, the successor to Biturica and Viduna, two original varieties of Bordeaux, a classically elegant Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). The white side of CHATEAU PERAYNE can be seen in a richly bouqueted Semillion (60%) and the finest class of Sauvignon (40%). (THE GRAPES)
